Petition to change Floresta and Crosstown to a four-way stop

Port St. Lucie, Fl (treasurecoast.com) – Their is a petition to change the intersection of Floresta and Crosstown to a four-way stop.

The new Crosstown Parkway Bridge opened up earlier this year to great fanfare. The long awaited project provided a much needed third option for drivers to cross the river in Port St Lucie. One element of the new project has received pushback: the design of the intersection at Floresta Drive and Crosstown Parkway. Drivers on Floresta can no longer either turn left onto Crosstown, or continue straight through the intersection. Instead all drivers must turn right onto Crosstown, drive a block down the road, make a U-turn, then continue back to the intersection. City officials say the design of the intersection has been proven to reduce traffic congestion in other parts of the country, but now a petition has been started on the website Change dot org, calling for the city to change the intersection back to a more traditional 4-way light. So far, 71 people have signed the petition.
