Pet of the Week: Ditto

Pet of the Week: Ditto

“My name is Ditto and I am a super handsome 5 year old cat.  I know my name and love to be with and talk to people. When first introduced I hiss at dogs  Once I get to know them I like to be near them. I am always at the front door when I hear people coming; I like to greet them and purr loud, as  I am sure they come just to visit and pet me.

My favorite hang outs are window sills (anywhere there is sun  Preferably up high, on the back of the chair or sofa where anyone is sitting, or on your desk if you are working there.  From the window sills, I can watch the birds and lizards. Sitting in front of a computer is also lots of fun.  I like to watch  that  little arrow, which you control with that other kind of mouse.  But, my favorite toy by far, is  a laser light. I get lots of exercise chasing that red laser light In my current foster home, the dog gets exercise chasing me chase the light.  When the light disappears,  I go around the other side of the chair or sofa ,  trying to figure out where it went, and watching for it to come back.

I am a good cat and I always use my litter box.

I have learned  I am not allowed on the kitchen cabinets or the dining room table, and to use a scratching post instead of the furniture to sharpen my claws.  If I forget these house rules, a loud clap reminds me.  I have three cat beds around the house where I know to go and sleep.  If I am tired I also like to sleep on your lap when you are watching TV.

I like to eat twice a day on schedule, and I know where the food is kept. People  love that I know how to do something very cute for my food or a treat – I have learned to pray for it.  I sit up on my hind  legs, put my front paws together, move them up and down punctuated with meows,  and pray really hard the food will come soon.  It works every time.

Although I don’t mind crates if I can go in and out of them, I do not like them as a home.  Right now, I am in a foster home, and I like it much better,  because I can go where I want and be with people.  What I am really looking very hard for,  is  an adult  companion or companions with a home where we can be together forever.  I  can guarantee I will keep our home free of lizards and spiders.”
