PBC AC&C Holds Strays to Reunite Lost Pets with Owners

Palm Beach County Animal Care and Control continues to request that any stray animals found be brought to the shelter. The address is  7100 Belvedere Road, West Palm Beach. The animals will be held at the shelter before being adopted. This is an effort to reunite pets that may have become lost prior to and immediately following Hurricane Irma. Animals found from Sept. 8 through 16 will be kept for 10 days before being available for pre-adoption. No adoptions will be finalized until 30 days after the storm-impacted pets were brought to the shelter.

Local private shelters and/or local or out-of-town rescue organizations may not transport any storm-displaced animals out of the county for a period of 30 days. This moratorium ends October 10, 2017.

Local private shelters and rescue organizations are strongly discouraged from importing any new animals into Palm Beach County for a minimum of 60 days. They are encouraged to take adoptable animals from Animal Care and Control in order to help make space at the shelter for storm-displaced pets.
