Palm City: Small child approached by man in red suv.
Please be alerted. This incident that was reported to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office today.
About 3:15 this afternoon, a 7-year old child was walking near his home at Highlands Reserve in Palm City, The child said he was approached by a man in a small red SUV. The driver asked the child if he wanted a ride to the mall. The child became frightened and ran to a neighbor’s house. The only description the child could provide is that the SUV was red, and the driver was a white male between the age of 40 and 60.
We are asking all parents to be vigilant and remind children never to get in a vehicle with a stranger. This child did exactly the right thing by running to a neighbor’s home and reporting the incident.
