One DOA in St Lucie County Crash
One person is dead and two were sent to the hospital.
At 3:25 am St Lucie Fire station 1, station 6, FTO1 and DC1 responded to a single vehicle crash. This was at the intersection of 25th St / Virginia Ave.
Three patients total- one DOA and two trauma patients transported by ground to a local trauma facility.
When crews arrived the vehicle was fully engulfed with occupants trapped.
Police were the first to arrive and used fire extinguishers until firefighters arrived. Two citizens who arrived at the scene pulled one of the people from the car.
One of the trauma patients had severe burns and was taken to a burn center in Miami.
The car ran into a tree and then slammed into a concrete electrical power pole. The pole cracked after the impact, causing power outages to about 30 customers.
At this time 25th Street is shut down at this intersection.
