Oliver Twist HSTC Pet of the Week April 27

Oliver Twist HSTC Pet of the Week April 27

Oliver Twist came to the Human Society of the Treasure Coast with the worst case of hock sores we have ever seen.  These sores, most likely caused by unclean living conditions, resulted in multiple sores and abscesses on his feet.  With no fur to cushion his soles from the weight of his body, his condition deteriorated. Our in-house veterinarian as well as our animal care manager and a rabbit volunteer put their heads together and formulated a plan for his treatment.  After 5 weeks in foster care with vet checks every week, he was returned to the shelter and is now available for adoption!

Oliver Twist was in a lot of pain when he arrived and was very quiet and shy.  Now that he is feeling better, Oliver has a very outgoing personality and is quite active.  He is looking for a home that will give him clean, soft fleece bedding daily to keep his sores from returning.  Most of all he wants love and attention. All rabbits are spayed/neutered and lice or mites free prior to adoption. To view other adoptable pets, please visit our website at www.hstc1.org
