New radKIDS Class in June

In June, children ages 5-12 can take a unique personal empowerment program in St. Lucie County, according to Sheriff Ken J. Mascara.

“The radKIDS program will help children learn personal safety, how to deal with attempted abduction, bullying, stranger safety and related issues,” Sheriff Mascara said.

Specially trained Deputies teach the course, and space is limited for the classes which will be taught at Northport K-8 School, 250 N.W. Floresta Drive, Port St. Lucie, in the gymnasium.

This year, both age group classes are on June 8 – 12, The class for children ages 5, 6 and 7 is from 9 to 11 a.m. The class for children ages 8 – 12 is from 1 to 3 p.m. The cost is $20 for the first child and $10 for each additional sibling. Space is limited, so Sheriff Mascara urges parents to sign up their children now.

Applications are available in the front lobby of the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office building on Midway Road or on the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office web site at:
