Nelson Family Farms Partners with Boys & Girls Clubs of SLC

Nelson Family Farms has become a Strategic Partner of the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County by donating $5000 to support the Club’s youth development programming.

In a time when hundreds of children and teens in St. Lucie County are not receiving the guidance they need to graduate from high school, to avoid the effects of violence, gangs and drugs, or to become responsible adults, the Boys & Girls Club of St. Lucie County is there to help children and young adults.  The Club would not be able to do this without the help of community supporters like Nelson Family Farms.

“If the community is going to come together as one you need to be personally engaged. When Dan and I were deciding how we could help the community, working with the Boys & Girls Clubs was our first thought.  The organization is close to our heart. As parents we witnessed firsthand that Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County fills voids for the youth in this community and provides them what they need to accomplish their goals.” Stated Lisa Nelson, Owner, of Nelson Family Farms.

It costs the Boys & Girls Club $1,000 per child to have them as a member afterschool per year; costs are kept as low as $20 per year for members as many are on free or reduced lunch.  Nelson Family Farms sponsorship has enabled children in need to participate in the Club’s vital programs and has given them a safe place to learn and grow afterschool.
