National Search Underway for Homicide Suspect. $5,000 Reward Offered.

Cocoa, Fla-  Detectives are asking for help to identify and locate a suspect wanted for a homicide that occurred in Cocoa late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning at the Dixie Motel, 301 Forrest Avenue.

The suspect checked into the motel Tuesday around 5 p.m. with the victim, 65 year old Terry Hilliard of Ocala. Hilliard reportedly was visiting the area to watch the Spacex launch.

The suspect left the area in the victim’s vehicle, a black Chevy Cruz. The vehicle was recovered Wednesday afternoon abandoned at a plaza at 11093 NW 138th Street in Hialeah. The plaza is also located near the intersection of the Turnpike and U.S. Highway 27/North Okeechobee Rd making it likely the suspect could have hitched a ride to another part of South Florida or Southwest Florida.

Statewide and national bulletins have been issued and detectives are asking media outlets in the U.S. and especially in the Southeastern region to please broadcast the suspect’s photo and share it across as many media platforms as are available.

The suspect may be armed and due to the nature of the homicide should be considered dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Central Florida CRIMELINE at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477). Callers will remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $5,000 in this case.
