Mother/Daughter arrested after using drone to deliver contraband to state prison rooftop

Martin County, Fl- A mother daughter were arrested after using a drone to deliver contraband  to an inmate at the Martin Correctional Institute. They were arrested after their special delivery was noticed by prison guards as it flew over the rooftop.

The duo was the inmate’s wife and her daughter. The contraband was being transported via drone, which was supposed to be delivered on the rooftop of the prison. Prison staff was immediately alerted to the hovering object and contacted the Sheriff’s office. When deputies responded, they located 40-year old Casandra Kerr and her daughter, 22-year old Cencetta Didiano driving around outside of the facility. The pair, who are from Tampa, admitted to deputies that they purchased the drone on E-bay, and wanted to deliver the items to their relative who is being housed at the prison.

They were taken into custody. Cassandra Kerr was charged with introducing contraband into a correctional facility. Concetta Didiano was charged aiding in the effort.

The package of Christmas deliverables, was collected and is being held in the evidence compound.
