MCSO SEES INCREASE IN OVERDOSES, CONTINUES TO TARGET SALE AND DISTRIBUTION OF DANGEROUS AND ADDICTIVE DRUGS

After a welcome decrease in overdoses last year, Martin County is now beginning to see an alarming increase. Some of the reported overdoses have resulted in death.

Within a three day period, units responded to five overdose calls, one of those resulted in a death. The overdoses have occurred in adults ages 27 through 50. This increase is tracking with an alarming national trend.

Meanwhile, our road patrol units continue to make significant arrests during routine traffic stops.

A notable arrest includes that of 31-year old Phoebe Ambrosino, of West Palm Beach. She was in possession of Morphine, MDMA, Alprazolam, Cocaine, as well as drug paraphernalia. Phoebe was an employee at a Martin County restaurant and bar.

She was transported to the Martin County Jail with a bond of $101,500.
