MCSO arrests Jensen Beach Mail Thief

MCSO arrest Jensen Beach Mail Thief

Video and citizen outreach helped crack the case.

They got the tape. Then they had the truck.  The Jensen Beach Mail Thief has been arrested. The driver , 56-year old Walter Voltz of Jensen Beach is behind bars for stealing people’s mail. MCSO Warrants detectives arrested Voltz yesterday after reviewing home surveillance video. The video was provided  by residents in the Jensen Park Estates Community.

In one of the videos you can see the truck, driven by Voltz, going from mailbox to mailbox. At least 13-mailboxes were tampered with. One resident reported that much of her mail had been stolen, and others said they never received mail they expected, or mail they sent out never arrived to its destination.

Voltz was charged with four counts of theft, and two counts of driving on permanently revoked drivers license.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office issued a social media alert and a Code Red phone call to the affected neighborhood. Homeowners viewed their home security footage.  A vehicle description was obtain. Then deputies were able to track the vehicle and Voltz, who didn’t live far from the area.
