A two week old fawn found near a stop sign at Fox Brown Road and Martin Grade seemed glad to see MCSO Animal Services Officers Beth Whittymore and Kimberly Guile. Officers believe that the fawn’s mother was killed. The docile animal was taken to Arnold’s Wildlife Rehabilitation in Okeechobee, where experts will nurse the animal to adulthood.

Meanwhile, we have an update on the injured bobcat that MCSO Animal Services rescued a few months ago.

The bobcat was also taken to Arnolds, where it has recovered from serious injuries, however, it is not likely that it will ever return to the wild. Experts believe that the bobcat was kept as a pet, then released when it became too much for the owner. The animal had no survival skills and was starving, weak, and became injured trying to find to food. Since arriving at Arnold’s, the bobcat is doing very well, and will likely live out the rest of its life at the rehab facility.

As always, facilities such as Arnolds are always happy to accept donations to help with this great work. Great rescues MCSO!

You can find out more about Arnolds on their website and their Facebook Page.
