MCSO ANIMAL SERVICES OFFICER SAVES DIXIE THE DOBERMAN FROM NEAR-DROWNING
Martin County– A day of fishing at a dock on the the St. Lucie River turned frightening for this Doberman and her owners.
“Dixie” was alongside her owners when she slipped off the dock and fell into the St. Lucie River. Dixie was able to able to swim to the seawall but could not get out. Her owners frantically tried to reach the tiring canine to no avail. Martin County Sheriff’s Animal Control Officer Brent Lavy responded to the call for help, and with little time to spare, Officer Lavy was able to grab Dixie from the water and get her to safety.
