Martin County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)-The Martin Sheriff reported they made 83 traffic stops on St. Patricks Day night.

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office continues its commitment to target reckless and intoxicated drivers, as well as those with revoked, suspended, and no license at all.
Deputies made 83—traffic stops St. Patrick’s Day night. Of those, five drivers were intoxicated, ten drivers never had a valid driver’s license, and one had a criminal infraction. Martin County Deputies were re-routed to assist with a local business fire, so they wrapped up the initiative early, however there were two notable arrests made.
30-year old Tiffani Reann Janiak was arrested and charged with two counts of DUI with property damage after crashing her vehicle into a fence multiple times before hitting a light pole. The crash caused power outages at hundreds of homes. Janiak was also charged with Failure to Appear for a DUI arrest in September of 2022. Two DUIs within a 12-month period. She failed to appear in court for the DUI. The second DUI involved a crash.
34-year old Federico Bravo- Mejia

34-year old Federico Bravo- Mejia

34-year old Federico Bravo- Mejia was arrested on a traffic stop and charged with not having a driver’s license. Bravo-Mejia has never possessed a license. He was also charged with Failure to Appear on a past DUI charge that caused property damage and bodily injury. Bravo-Mejia never showed up in court for causing that crash, yet he got behind the wheel again. This is the seventh time Bravo-Mejia has been cited with driving without a license.
The number of hit and run crashes in Martin County is on the rise because of the increase in unlicensed drivers and intoxicated drivers. As a result, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office has created a hit and run task force in an effort to pursue the drivers who flee crash scenes.
