Martin Luther King Jr Day Events
Today is Martin Luther King Jr day. The Federal Holiday is observed on the third Monday of every January, near King’s birthday which was January 15th. To honor the Civil Rights leader, a parade will be held in Downtown Stuart starting at 10 o’clock this morning. It will start at the NAACP Office Parking Lot and head down to Memorial Park, where a commemorative program will begin at 11.
A parade and ceremony will also be held in Fort Pierce, beginning at 10am.
A festival will be held at Lawnwood Stadium from noon to 5 this evening.
There will be a parade in Indian River.

Parade Line-up Location: Vehicles – Route will start at 37th St and 18th PL to Old Dixie Highway and continue on to 45th Street and then 43rd Ave commencing at Gifford Park (Victor Hart Community Enhancement Complex).
Walkers Only: 45th Street across from MLK Plaza
Parade Line-up time is 8:00 a.m.; Parade will start promptly at 10:00 a.m.
