CRIME ALERT – THIEVES TARGET UNLOCKED VEHICLES
There is a crime alert in Martin County. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a rash of auto burglaries that occurred overnight. They 26-reported auto burglaries that happened in Savannah Estates, Palm Point, Palm Isle and The Villas. Twenty-five of the vehicles burglarized were left unlocked. Some of the burglaries were captured on home security footage. One vehicle was reported stolen.
Detectives are looking through home security footage at this time. If you live in one of the communities where the crimes occurred and have additional footage from your security cameras, please call 220-7170.
They are urging all residents to keep their car doors locked. If you determine that you are a victim of an auto burglary and just discovered it, please file a report. A code red phone call has been sent out to residents.
