Martin County Burglary Alert

Martin County Burglary Alert

The Martin County Sheriff’s Office would like to issue the following BURGLARY ALERT to all Martin County residents.

Within the past two days, MCSO has responded to three residential burglaries where cash, jewelry, and in one case, a firearm was stolen.

Detectives along with their Senior Crime Analyst have carefully reviewed each case, and have noted similarities that would indicate a potential trend materializing.  They do believe suspect that they are a  loosely organized traveling burglary group may be forming. They want Martin County residents to be ahead of this potential wave.

Sheriff Snyder wants the public to be fully informed about these burglaries, and is once again asking the public to be vigilant about any suspicious activity that might take place in your neighborhood.

The burglaries each occurred after 8:30am, and were discovered before 3:30pm. In each case, windows were smashed. The homes were in non-gated communities, however, they did received a call about a suspicious vehicle in a gated community, where two suspicious males followed a resident vehicle through the gate. The subjects claimed they were there to fix a pool.

The crimes took place in Jupiter Island, Palm City, and Tequesta. Although these burglaries have no geographical pattern, there are notable similarities indicating a possible start-up. With that, we would like to remind everyone to share the following tips:

Use your home alarms. Even if you leave for 10-minutes.
Call 9-1-1 to report any suspicious vehicle, or activity in your neighborhood. The sooner you call, the better.

Get a description of any suspicious vehicle, and a tag number if possible. A partial tag number is also helpful.

Keep a close eye on your neighbor’s home, and inform your community about the recent occurrences.

Please continue to monitor our Facebook and Twitter feeds for any updates on these crimes.
