Margate man dies in fatal crash on turnpike in Indian River
Indian River, Fl- A Margate man has died in a fatal crash on the Florida Turnpike in Indian River. FHP has identified the man as Alberto Sanchez Leon.
FHP reported his vehicle overturned early Saturday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol says the man was driving in the outside lane of State Road 91 near mile marker 174. The driver was trying to drive along a left curve when he inexplicably drove into the right paved shoulder of the road, FHP said.
The driver then over-steered to the left and tried to over correct his mistake, leading the vehicle to overturn on the left side.
Then, the overturned car ended up colliding with a guardrail. He went through the guardrail and down the grass embankment.
The man’s injuries were fatal.
The crash is still under investigation.
