Many Agricultural Crimes in Martin County

Many Agricultural Crimes in Martin County.

Last month several neglected horses were removed from a property in Palm City. They were taken to the Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation for treatment. Unfortunately, one of the horses that was severely malnourished has died. The remaining horses are still recovering.

Detectives are also still searching for the vandals who tortured an alligator at an Indiantown food plant. After damaging the property the vandals found the gator, and gouged out his eyes with a blunt object. The gator had to be euthanized. PETA has offered a reward for anyone who has information leading to an arrest.

Also in Indiantown, detectives are looking for the person or people who are torturing feral cats. A resident reported that at least three cats have been found dead.  They had  cuts to their body and their legs chopped off. Three others were found with cuts, but they survived. Anyone with information is asked to call the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.
