Man threatened to jump off bridge at Port St. Lucie Boulevard near turnpike
Port St Lucie, Fla- A man threatened to jump off the turnpike bridge at Port St. Lucie Boulevard towards Bayshore. Eastbound traffic was at a standstill. Turnpike traffic stopped.

The northbound and southbound lanes were blocked as police try to talk to the man. Westbound traffic on Port St. Lucie Boulevard had to be diverted either northbound or southbound, since the eastbound lanes were gridlocked, according to police.

Luckily, the man voluntarily came down from the overpass around 6:40 p.m. and was taken to safety, police said. Both the Turnpike and Port St. Lucie Boulevard have been reopened.
