Man killed in hit-and-run in Ft Pierce.
The police are looking for the driver who hit and killed a man in Ft Pierce tonight.
The crash happened around 8:30 P.M. near the 3200 block of U.S.1.
U.S. 1 remains shut down south of Edwards Rd for the police investigation.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Update:
The victim is a 59 year old man from Maine.
Police are actively searching for a dark green Ford SUV with front end damage.
Update June 6:
The Ft Pierce Police have narrowed the type of vehicle suspected in Friday’s fatal hit and run crash on U.S. Highway 1. They now suspect the vehicle is a 1997-2000 Ford F150, possibly a two-tone Lariat with dark green and either silver or tan on the lower part of the vehicle.
