On August 17, 2017, Port St. Lucie Police arrested Pierre Raymonvil.  He was charged  for grand theft, resisting a merchant, and resisting an officer without violence after he attempted to steal a memory foam bed and sheets.

On August 17, 2017 at around 6:55 pm, Port St. Lucie Police went to the Wal-Mart located at 1675 NW St. Lucie West Boulevard for reports of a shoplifting in progress.  As police arrived on scene they saw the suspect. He wa  running out of the grocery entrance of the business headed east through the parking lot. The officer ran after Raymonvil yelling “Police, Stop.” This drew the attention of an unknown citizen who was in the parking lot.  Raymonvil continued to run east. Then eventually he was tackled by the unknown citizen.  The officer on foot caught up to Raymonvil and was then joined by a second officer and an off-duty FHP Trooper who assisted in placing Raymonvil in handcuffs.  The unknown citizen left the area after he tackled Raymonvil and his identity is still unknown.

Wal-Mart security told police that Raymonvil entered the store, placed a memory foam bed and sheet in a shopping cart, then tried to exit through the grocery entrance without paying for the items.  Wal-Mart security tried to stop Raymonvil at the exit of the store; however, Raymonvil fled the area on foot leaving the merchandise behind.

Raymonvil was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail for booking.
