Man arrested for robbery of Miranda Subs

Sheriff Ken Mascara announced that Michael Deshon Fuller, 28, a violent, convicted felon, was arrested and charged for the November 22 armed robbery of Miranda’s Subs.

According to the Sheriff, at approximately 6:52 p.m. on November 22, a black male wearing a dark-colored hoodie entered Miranda’s Subs in the 3300 block of Avenue A in Fort Pierce. The male brandished a silver revolver with a black handle and demanded cash, then left on foot. Sheriff’s deputies and K-9 attempted to track the suspect without success, and a need to identify post was shared on the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page.

According to the Sheriff, a tip from the public led to the identification of Fuller who had an outstanding warrant for failure to pay child support.

“When detectives arrived at Fuller’s home to question him, he reached for a black, semi-automatic hand gun and was stopped by detectives before anyone was hurt,” said Sheriff Ken J. Mascara. “This was a different gun than the silver revolver that was described by witnesses in the armed robbery.”

According to the Sheriff, Fuller was positively identified by the victim, and has prior arrests for burglary and armed burglary. He was convicted of felony armed burglary in 2012.

Fuller was charged with failure to pay child support, two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, robbery with a firearm and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill. He was booked into the St. Lucie County Jail on a bond of $128,500.

“Thanks to the tip received and the dedicated and focused work of our detectives, this crime can be cleared with an arrest within a week’s time,” Sheriff Mascara said.
