Kudos to Indian River County clean beaches! Great example for St Lucie and Martin!
I am so happy to commend Indian River County for their most beautiful well kept beaches and engaging the community. In both @stluciegov and @martincountyflorida there is this no trash can push. I know there is this pack it out mentality that maybe could happen in a place like Maine or Boulder but here in the Treasure Coast we need garbage cans and recycling bins because people do not pack their stuff out they just leave it!
The other issue dog poop in St Lucie. I go for a hike with my dog. I pick up the poop. At the end of the trail no garbage can! In both counties there will be an excess of dog poop then they will stop letting us bring our dogs.
I know there are a lot of different opinions but we need to come to consensus. My vote is we get garbage cans and recycling bins right now and maybe we can move on to something else.
In Port St Lucie a friend of mine who lives on main street that people literally throw their garbage out of the window on their lawn.
Stop throwing things out the window!

I could not believe some of the gross things I have picked in my travels with my garbage bucket. Please take personal responsibility for your own garbage.
Here are a few things to think about so we have less garbage and even less to recycle.
Choose reusable produce bags instead of plastic.
Use reusable wool dryer balls instead of dryer sheets.
Waste less food. Shop smarter, sharpen food-storage skills and create an “eat me first bin” for your fridge.
:Freeze foods you can’t consume right away. (This includes apple cores and peels for the next batch of apple cider vinegar or leftover oatmeal for next week’s cookies or muffins.)
Experience and build community with clothing swaps, repair cafés, toy swaps and food-sharing clubs!
Shop in thrift and consignment stores. Wash items, alter and treat stains before creating the perfect outfit. This also goes for Halloween costumes (although fun as a swap as well) and sports gear.
Reuse silica gel packs. Add them to toolboxes, camping gear, stored seasonal clothing, damp hockey gloves, jars of apple chips, jars of homemade spice mixes or salt shakers.
Make your own home cleaners and personal care products.
Pack litter-less lunches.
Homemade Rags as Paper towels.
Cloth Napkins.
