Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful Seeks Volunteers for Great American Cleanup

Show your Fort Pierce pride by volunteering during the Great American Cleanup, Fort Pierce’s largest annual litter cleanup and beautification event, on Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 8 am until noon.

Since this year’s clean-up will not include a festival or transportation due to the ongoing pandemic, Keep Fort Pierce Beautiful invites Fort Pierce residents to coordinate a cleanup of their own as part of the national Clean Your Block Party initiative. In an effort to provide a safe environment for volunteers, participants are encouraged to form small teams and choose an area to pick up litter. Registered volunteers may be provided with litter collection supplies like trash bags, gloves, and t-shirts, while supplies last. For more information and to register online, visit: https://www.cityoffortpierce.com/383/Great-American-Cleanup. Any cleanup project that occurs on March 13 can receive recognition as part of the Great American Cleanup.

The annual Arbor Day Planting Celebration is also happening on March 13 in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup on Sunrise Boulevard across from Pinewood Park. The event starts at 8 am and lasts until all 21 new trees are planted and staked in the median. The City of Fort Pierce is proud to have received the prestigious Tree City USA designation for 32 consecutive years from the National Arbor Day Foundation in honor of its commitment to effective urban forest management and this tree planting celebration is another example of that commitment.
