National Water Dance Performance

April 22, 4-5 pm

Enjoy a unique dance performance, bringing attention to the fragility of our waters through the talent of arts students… in honor of earth day. Free to the public beginning at 3:30pm. Lighthouse will be closed during this time. Location: Lighthouse deck

April 25 & 26th – The Lighthouse is turning Blue for Autism Awareness 

Autism Night at the Light

April 25, 5:30-7:30 pm

This event is an opportunity for families and caretakers with children on the autism spectrum to have some fun in an autism-friendly environment along with other families. We have fun activities planned including lighthouse climbs, the Keeper’s Workshop, Tindall Pioneer Homestead, meeting Mrs. Lighthouse, mural painting, and more. Food and Ice Cream for sale. Free admission for families touched by Autism. Register online jupiterlighthouse.org. Participants: JILM, Ernie Els Center, Bureau of Land Management, and the Yale Club.

Lighthouse Story Time & Crafts for Kids   

May 1, 10:30am-11:15am         

Join us under the Lighthouse Seminole Chickee Hut for story time & craft activity about Lighthouse Keepers, Florida History and People & Local Plants and Animals.  Moms & Dads, this is ideal for kids ages 8 and under. Please bring a small beach/picnic mat for your child.  Please arrive 10 minute prior for check-in. Gate closes/no admission after 10:40 am. Program is free & runs approximately 45 minutes. Hike Through History

May 5, 8:30-am-10:30am

Join our staff on a 2 mile trek through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area discovering a history shaped by nature. Program is open to adults and children-minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old.  Hiker’s footwear, active wear, a hat, and a full water bottle or canteen should be carried, tour is weather dependent. Hike meets at the Museum’s flag pole. Outreach Speaker Series: Coast Guard In Hobe Sound & Jupiter

Join us in the Museum Quarterdeck as Staff shares the latest discoveries in local historical research and new findings from our ever expanding Museum’s collection. The Lighthouse Service merged with the Coast Guard in 1939, but the Coast Guard has had a much larger role in our area than many people recognize. Historian Josh Liller will cover not only the military operation of the lighthouse, but also the local Loran Stations. This presentation will feature the latest research and photos from the Coast Guard Historian’s office and several servicemen assigned here. Q&A will follow. Free to the public

Lighthouse Lecture Series: Five Military Flags Over Jupiter

Did you know that all five branches of the US military have a history in the Jupiter area? Join us on Armed Forces Day as Historian Josh Liller covers local history from Fort Jupiter to Station J. 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area

May 8th Programs:

Calling All Artists, 9 am – 5 pm

Calling all Plein-air artists. Join us to capture the beauty of the Outstanding Natural Area on the 10th Anniversary of the national designation. Entrance fee for artists $10 each. Must register in advance online. Refreshments will be served on the Lighthouse deck. Artist will share their works on social media during the event using the hashtag #10YearsJILONA. Learn To Fish, 1 pm -5 pm

Experience the stunning sunset views and witness the Jupiter Light turning on to illuminate the night sky.  Visitors get an inside look at the nuts & bolts of a working lighthouse watchroom.  Tour time approximately 75 minutes, Cost: $20 per person, $15 for Lighthouse Members, Tickets required – purchase online or call 561-747-8380 X101. Twilight Yoga at the Light

May 7, 14, 21, 28      7-8 PM

Experience the serenity of Yoga with Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset every Monday.  This is an all levels class and beginners are welcomed and encouraged! $10 donation per person. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight. Meet at the Museum 10 minutes prior to start time, class is weather dependent – please check website for updates and future start times. Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum 2018

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1860 lighthouse. The waterfront Museum in the restored WWII building exhibits Five Thousand Years on the Loxahatchee, which explores Native American, Seminole, Florida Maritime, Lighthouse, Pioneer and WWII Secret “Station J” history. Showcasing the amazing past of the Loxahatchee River region, the heritage site also features the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Pennock Plantation Bell and Lighthouse Keepers Workshop. Tour options include guided tour with a docent or self-tour with a smartphone app. Also available are the museum gift shop, educational programs for children and adults, sunset tours, moonrise tours, weddings & proposals, and special events.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the 120-acre federally designated, Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area. Hiking trail and observation tower located on the north side of Beach Road. Open Tues-Sun (Open 7 days Jan-Apr,) 10 am-5 pm, last lighthouse tour leaves at 4 pm. Check website for holiday hours and early closings. Children must be at least 48” tall to climb tower.
