Calling All Artists-10th Anniversary Celebration of Jupiter ONA

May 8 @ 10:00 am – 5:00 pm

We are inviting artists to capture the beauty of the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area on this special day.   Artists may share their work with us on social media during and after the event using the hashtag #10YearsJILONA.  Coffee and cookies will be served. Artists must bring their materials and agree to be photographed during the day. Adults are $10 each, Children are Free on May 8th.  Time: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. RSVP is required. Learn To Fish – 10th Anniversary Celebration of Jupiter ONA

May 8 @ 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

We’re celebrating the 10th Anniversary of the “Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area” national designation. Learn To Fish program will be held on May 8, 2018 from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum. Children and Families are invite to learn the art and sport of Fishing. Equipment will be provided. Please expect wet feet and sandy toes and bring sunscreen and a hat. Guidance will be given by professional instructors FishingCommunity.org coming all the way from Virginia to offer this special program.  Special admission for the day: Children are FREE, Adults $10. Lighthouse Sunset Tour

Experience the stunning sunset views and witness the Jupiter Light turning on to illuminate the night sky.  Visitors get an inside look at the nuts & bolts of a working lighthouse watchroom.  Tour time approximately 75 minutes, Cost: $20 per person, $15 for Lighthouse Members, Tickets required – purchase online or call 561-747-8380 X101. Hike Through History

May 5, 8:30-am-10:30am

Join our staff on a 2 mile trek through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area discovering a history shaped by nature. Program is open to adults and children-minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old.  Hiker’s footwear, active wear, a hat, and a full water bottle or canteen should be carried, tour is weather dependent. Hike meets at the Museum’s flag pole. Twilight Yoga at the Light

May 7, 14, 21, 28      7-8 PM

Experience the serenity of Yoga with Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset every Monday.  This is an all levels class and beginners are welcomed and encouraged! $10 donation per person. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight. Meet at the Museum 10 minutes prior to start time, class is weather dependent – please check website for updates and future start times.

Outreach Speaker Series:  Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse: Myths & Discoveries

Join Historian Josh Liller for his special presentation at the History In The Park series for the Loxahatchee Battlefield Preservation Association. Mr. Liller shares the latest research and discoveries about the Jupiter Light and debunks some of the myths that surround our national treasure. Lecture is free to the public, RSVP required. Outreach Speaker Series: Coast Guard In Hobe Sound & Jupiter

May 16, 6PM-7PM

The Lighthouse Service merged with the Coast Guard in 1939, but the Coast Guard has had a much larger role in our area than many people recognize. Historian Josh Liller will cover not only the military operation of the lighthouse, but also the local Loran Stations. This presentation will feature the latest research and photos from the Coast Guard Historian’s office and several servicemen assigned here. Q&A will follow. Free to the public. Lighthouse Lecture Series: Five Military Flags Over Jupiter

Did you know that all five branches of the US military have a history in the Jupiter area? Join us on Armed Forces Day as Historian Josh Liller covers local history from Fort Jupiter to Station J.
