158th Lighthouse Anniversary – Free admission for Children

July 10, 2018, 10am-4pm

Free admission for children 18 & under, July 10th all day long! Help us celebrate our 158th anniversary by touring the Lighthouse & Museum and see all we have to offer. Admission includes the Museum (self-guiding) and grounds admission to visit the Lighthouse & Keepers Workshop, Lighthouse Deck, Tindall Pioneer Homestead and Seminole Chickee. Regular admission rates apply to adults and children must be accompanied by an adult. Children must be 48″ tall to climb the Lighthouse. Hike Through History

July 7, 8:30-10:30 am

Join our staff on a 2 mile trek through the 120-acre Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area discovering a history shaped by nature. Program is open to adults and children-minimum age 5, ages 13 & under must be accompanied by an adult that is at least 18 years old.  Hiker’s footwear, active wear, a hat, and a full water bottle or canteen should be carried, tour is weather dependent. Hike meets at the Museum’s flag pole. Lighthouse Sunset Tour   

July 11, 18 , 7:45-9 pm

Experience the stunning sunset views and witness the Jupiter Light turning on to illuminate the night sky.  Visitors get an inside look at the nuts & bolts of a working lighthouse watchroom.  Tour time approximately 75 minutes, Cost: $20 per person, $15 for Lighthouse Members, Tickets required – purchase online or call 561-747-8380 X101. Lighthouse Moonrise Tour   

July 26th, 7 pm     27th, 7:30 pm

A howling good time and spectacular evening view of a full moon from the top of the Lighthouse! Tour time approximately 75 minutes, Tickets required – purchase online or call 561-747-8380 x101. Tours are weather permitting. Children must be accompanied by an adult and be at least 48” tall to climb the Lighthouse. Twilight Yoga at the Light

July, 7-8 pm

Experience the serenity of Yoga with Mary Veal on the Lighthouse Deck at sunset every Monday.  This is an all levels class and beginners are welcomed and encouraged! $10 per person. Bring a yoga mat, water bottle and a flashlight. Meet at the Museum 10 minutes prior to start time, class is weather dependent – please check website for updates and future start times.

Join us for book discussions on all things Florida! Discover the surprisingly rich heritage of our State in both fiction and non-fiction.  Book Club meets the first Wednesday of every month (second Wednesday in July & Dec 2018) in the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum Quarterdeck room. Outreach Speaker Series: Trapper Nelson

Description: Vince “Trapper” Nelson came to Jupiter in the early 1930s and soon established a permanent camp on the upper Loxahatchee River. Trapper’s Zoo & Jungle Gardens became a local tourist attraction, drawing visitors to picnic, see wild animals, and meet the man likened to a modern Tarzan. For the 50thanniversary of his mysterious death, join Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum Historian Josh Liller to learn more about one of Jupiter’s legendary characters.

Social Media Bootcamp

Aug. 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, 6-7:30 pm

Learn the best ways to use Social Media for Personal and Professional use. Join us at the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum for Social Media Bootcamp with Rajeeyah “GiGi” Madinah. A FUN 5-week program being held in our Quarterdeck room at the Museum every Thursday in August beginning Aug. 2, 2018, 6-7:30 pm. The course is $60 (special Lighthouse discount) and certificates awarded at completion. More Info…Social Media Bootcamp is for anyone interested in using social media for business and personal use. Anyone with a business, or starting a business can benefit from the tools discussed in this program. Attendees will become familiar with basic levels of advertising, search engine optimization, content marketing, social media strategies, and all things that pertain to digital marketing in 2018. Students will utilize the platforms of: Facebook, Google, Youtube, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and many more. And also learn how to best apply these tools for their local business and Ecommerce business. We will also discuss how to leverage social media to optimize your Ecommerce business on sites like Amazon, Etsy, Ebay and Shopify. Certificates given upon completion.
