Jordan Scott, Miss Martin County Fair 2019

Stuart– On Friday, February 8th, 2019 Jordan Scott was crowned Miss Martin County Fair 2019 at the opening night of the fair’s 60th anniversary. Martin County freshmen, sophomores, and juniors competed for the title after starting the show with the opening number they’d spent the week prior rehearsing. There were ten contestants this year, each very involved in the community and their schools. Jordan won the crown, and an exciting year ahead as this year’s winner.

Jordan is a junior at Clark Advanced Learning Center, and involved in several clubs and programs including The National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, Student Government, and the Keystone/Interact club. Outside of school, Jordan participates in numerous amounts of leadership programs, such as Martin Youth Leadership, RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards), NAACP Organization, and also worked at the voting polls this year.

Jordan shared with the judges that she has been dancing for 12 years, doing ballet, tap, jazz, and hip-hop. At around 10 years old Jordan took interest in Irish dance, and hasn’t looked back. Not only has she ranked 20th in the Southern region and has qualified for the nationals three times, but she also placed 48th out of about 175 competitors.

Jordan was crowned after scoring the highest overall in interview, onstage Q&A, and the top five question. The five finalists were each asked, ‘How do you hope in inspire your friends?’ To celebrate the fair’s anniversary, this year’s judging panel consisted of two past fair queens from 1997 and 1998, and the President of Soroptimist International of Stuart which helped to start the pageant back in 1968, first called Martin County Lady.

Friday night kicked off a week of fair festivities in which Jordan and the queen’s court made several appearances. The winner and the other finalists took photos with all the livestock exhibitors at their respective shows and were also photographed with over 80 market animals and the local business owners and supporters that purchased them. To celebrate the ‘Diamond’ anniversary of the fair, Diamond Rio was this year’s headlining concert, in which Jordan and girls attended as true VIPs. WAVE 92.7fm introduced the girls to the sold-out crowd before the band took the stage. Jordan will have the opportunity to compete in the next Miss Teen FL USA pageant, and will represent the fair at numerous community events and celebrations throughout the year.
