IRC Sheriff: Train Hit Pedestrian in Vero Beach
Indian River, Fl (treasurecoast, Fl)- The Indian River County Sheriff has reported that a train hit a pedestrian in Vero Beach.

At approximately 6:09 this morning, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office received a report from an FEC (Florida East Coast) Railway worker that a train hit a pedestrian just north of the 12th Street crossing.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased and the train is stopped at the intersections of 12th Street and 8th Street.
IRCSO is investigating the accident with FEC investigators and we ask you please avoid the area this morning.
As a reminder, please, obey the safety equipment at railroad grade crossings and never walk on the railroad tracks.
