IRC Sheriff: Live-in boyfriend arrested, charged with sexual battery on child

Indian River County, Fl (treasurecoast.com)-The Indian River Sheriff have reported they have arrested a  live-in boyfriend and charged him with sexual battery on child.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested a 39-year-old man accused of committing sexual battery on his girlfriend’s 7-year-old child.
Ransford Carlill was arrested after the girlfriend questioned his actions and she filed a complaint with the Sheriff’s Office. The child’s mother confronted Carlill after she saw him on the nanny-cam leaving the child’s room while pulling up his pants.
“I’m proud of our team,” said Sheriff Eric Flowers.
During the investigation, Carlill told authorities that he did do what he was accused of though he knew it was wrong.
He currently faces two capital sexual battery charges – victim under 12, in Indian River County. The investigation is ongoing and more charges are possible.
Carlill is being held at the county jail without bail.
