INDIANTOWN MAN CHARGED WITH FIRST DEGREE MURDER AFTER FATALLY STABBING HIS WIFE IN FRONT OF THEIR TODDLER

39-year old Andres Pedro Mateo has been charged with First Degree Murder in the stabbing death of his wife.
Last night deputies were called to a home at the 14000 block of SW Cherokee Drive in Indiantown after reports that a man was stabbing a woman. Once deputies made entry into the home, Mateo refused to open the bedroom door. Deputies forced entry into the room where they found Mateo kneeling over his wife’s lifeless body. She had multiple stab wounds. Also in the room was the couple’s toddler. A deputy immediately grabbed the child and removed her from the room, while another deputy forced Mateo to the ground. The child was not injured.
Despite life saving efforts, the victim died in route to the hospital. Multiple people who live at that house told deputies Mateo was the person who stabbed the victim repeatedly.
Andres Mateo-Pedro was taken to the Martin County Jail without bond.
