Indian River Schedules First Round of Appointments with New Waitlist System
Vero Beach, FL – This week, the Department of Health in Indian River County received 1,250 first dose COVID-19 vaccines from the State of Florida. Today, Indian River County scheduled 400 of these appointments for individuals who registered with the County’s new waitlist system and plans to send out an additional 850 appointment invitations tomorrow.
The County is currently scheduling appointments for individuals who registered with the County waitlist system on February 5. In total, 6,802 residents registered for the County’s waitlist on February 5, therefore, not everyone who registered on February 5 will receive an appointment this week. Registrants will only be notified when vaccine has been received by the Department of Health in Indian River County and there is an available appointment for them. If you did not receive an appointment notification this week, the County asks that you continue to be patient as appointments are scheduled based on availability of the vaccine and when an individual registered.
Vaccination clinics are held by-appointment at the Indian River County Fairgrounds (7955 58th Avenue in Vero Beach). The schedule for first dose vaccination clinics this week is as follows:
- Wednesday, February 10: 200 first dose appointments
- Thursday, February 11: 200 first dose appointments
- Friday, February 12: 850 first dose appointments

Residents who need technical assistance with online registration or do not have Internet access can also register by calling our call center (772) 226-4000, which is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
