Indian River County,  Fl (treasurecoast.com) –  Deputies rescued two dogs from a burning home Sunday afternoon in the 5800 block of 59th Drive, Vero Beach. The deputies responded to a house fire call when they realized that two dogs were inside.

Deputies Kachele, Hartmann, and Robbins entered the home and released the dogs, one of which was in a crate.

The dogs appeared to be no worse for wear due to the deputies’ quick actions. Indian River Fire Rescue also responded to the home and extinguished the fire.
Red Cross was notified on behalf of the residents and the Fire Marshal was called to investigate.
No further details were available about the fire.
