Latest Update:
The Indian River County Emergency Operations Center expects sustained tropical storm force winds to reach our county in the next several hours. We have already experienced tropical storm force gusts. Hurricane force gusts are expected to accompany the sustained tropical storm force winds. We ask that the public remain off the roadways and businesses remain closed at this time.
Outages:
Florida Power and Light are reporting less than fifty homes in Indian River County without power.
Watches/Warnings/States of Emergency:
Indian River County remains under a Hurricane Warning.
Indian River County remains under a state of emergency issued on Friday , August 30th, 2019.
The State of Florida remains under a state of emergency issued by the Honorable Governor Ron DeSantis on Wednesday, August 28th, 2019.
Evacuations:
A mandatory evacuation order was issued for Indian River County at 8:00 AM on Monday, September 2, 2019 for all areas east of US Highway 1 including the barrier island, low lying areas, and anyone in substandard or manufactured housing. The mandatory evacuation remains in effect.

Shelters:
The following shelters are now open, with a total of 751 people being housed in shelters:
- Treasure Coast Elementary, 8955 85th Street – Special Needs Shelter
- Liberty Magnet Elementary, 6580 81st Street – Pet Friendly Shelter
- Fellsmere Elementary, 50 N. Cypress Street – General Population
- Sebastian River Middle, 9400 CR 512 – General Population
- Freshman Learning Center, 1507 19th Street – General Population
- Oslo Middle School, 480 20th Ave SW – General Population
Transportation:
All tolls for toll roads have been lifted and travel on I-95, Turnpike, and SR 60 remains light.
Uber has announced free round trip rides to Florida Shelter locations for those seeking transportation. For more information visit https://www.uber.com/blog/florida/hurricane-dorian/ Uber suspended free transportation late last night due to the incoming winds.
Closures:
Causeways/Bridges to the Barrier Island remain closed.
The Emergency Operations Center has encouraged all businesses in Indian River County to close as of 2:00 PM on Monday, September 2, 2019.
The School District of Indian River County has cancelled classes through Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
GoLine and all public transportation has ceased.
All county convenience centers and landfills are currently closed until further notice. Waste pickup is suspended until after the storm.
All airports, beaches, public parks, libraries, and marinas are closed.
All government offices including the courthouse remain closed until further notice.
Sebastian Hospital has been evacuated. Cleveland Clinic Indian River remains open.
