Hurricane Preparedness Expo and sales-tax holiday for supplies!

On Saturday, the first official day of the hurricane season, St Lucie County will be holding their 13th annual Hurricane Preparedness Expo. Residents and businesses can get crucial storm related information from more than 60 vendors at one convenient location. The expo is at the Port St Lucie Civic Center and runs from 10am to 2pm. WPSL and WSTU will be there, and in fact Mr. G and Bonnie will be broadcasting live from there Saturday… so keep an ear out for that this weekend.

To help you prepare for the upcoming hurricane season, there will be a week long sales-tax holiday on hurricane supplies. You can buy essential items like generators, batteries, and flashlights, plus other items like portable self powered radios, tarps, gas tanks, non electric coolers, and reusable ice packs. The sales tax holiday starts May 31st and runs through June 6th.
