Hungryland Fire is 500 acres at 20 % containment

Per the Florida Forest Service – Okeechobee District, the Hungry Land Fire is up to 500 acres at 20% containment.
Crews have increased the number of dozer units to 7. However, no injuries reported, and no homes currently in danger.

*#WILDFIRE UPDATE*
According to the Florida Forestry Service, the fire has grown to 200 acres. It is 40% contained.
Fire crews have protected multiple structures since the blaze began just before 2 pm.
Martin County Sheriff’s Office is putting up smoke advisory signs.
There have been no reported injuries, and the fire is not threatening any homes at this time, nor is it close to any.
The #fire is currently moving southwest, deeper into Hungryland.
3 hours ago we got a wild fire alert
There is 150 acre wildfire in Martin County on the Hungryland Wildlife and Environmental area off of Pratt Whitney Rd. We have 1 supervisor, 1 fixed wing pilot, and 4 dozers on scene. The Fire Department is providing structure protection and the Sheriff’s department is assisting on the incident. The hunting camps within the area are threatened however no other threats or hazards at this time. It is currently 0% contained.
