Homeowners Living Along All Aboard Rail Lines Worried

From the Treasure Coast through Palm Beach County, homeowners living along rail lines where express passenger trains will soon speed by – are worried about more than just safety.

They fear the All Aboard Florida high speed rail will be costing them some serious cash by dropping their property values.

A just released report put together by the Martin County property appraiser’s office indicates those concerns are now a reality for some homeowners.

News partner CBS 12 reached out to All Aboard Florida for comment on this new study.

They argue that their own studies conclude real estate values close to passenger rail systems have significantly increased. That statement is true, but critics point out that such data is usually related to condos and townhomes that are proximate to a train station hub, and not necessarily to property along the tracks.
