GROUP RULES
This is a fantastic group, and we appreciate you! These group rules are necessary to keep PSLBN running smoothly. WE TAKE THESE GROUP RULES SERIOUSLY. ?
The official Group Rules can be found under the group “ABOUT” information, and each time a member makes a post, they will pop up at the top of the dialog box.
1. If you decide to break the rules
All members have agreed to the group rules. If you decide to break them, the admins have the authority to boot you from the group.
2. Be kind and courteous
-RESPECT EVERYONE, no matter who they are or where they’re from. This is a large group and a fair representation of PSL, so let’s spread the sunshine. We’re all in this together to create a friendly and welcoming community environment.
-Kindness and common courtesy are required
-Antagonistic, belittling, and discriminatory comments will be deleted. Bullying, harassment, name-calling, insults, profanity, or rudeness of any kind WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Offenders WILL be removed from this group.
3. No Trolling, Stalking, Harassing
–Members who make offensive or provocative posts or comments that disrupt and cause discord are considered trolls.
-Multiple argumentative and non-relevant comments are considered trolling
-Harassing a member of the group or arguing with an admin is a removable offense.
-Members that harass or stalk another member’s personal page will be permanently banned from ALL breaking newsgroups.
-Anyone that blocks an admin will be removed from ALL breaking newsgroups IMMEDIATELY.
4. Commenting
-If you have nothing helpful or productive to add to a post, kindly scroll by.
-STAY ON TOPIC
-No hate speech, graphic photos or memes, suggestions of violence or profanity.
-If your comment or post is removed, DO NOT post your complaint about it.
PM an admin instead. We’ll talk.
5. More on Commenting and Posting
-Any member suggesting a fellow member should move will be removed from the group
-The name of this group is Port St Lucie Breaking News. As with the other six breaking newsgroups owned by TreasureCoast.com, this is our brand.
-PLEASE do not ask, “Is this breaking news?” Read the ABOUT info.
-Sometimes, a post can take hours before it shows up in our queue. We have no control over it.
We do, however, individually read every post that comes in for approval. This takes extra work and time, but we do it to ensure the safety of the group from bots and scammers. Please be mindful of this when you submit a post, especially a time-sensitive one.
Submit events early, and be sure to add them to the TreasureCoast.com Event Calendar.
6. Posting
-All posts will be approved or declined on a case-to-case basis.
-For complaints about a business, bring your issue directly to them. We do not bash local small businesses here.
-If comments in a post turn ugly – the post, comments, and/or members may be removed.
-Please keep posts relevant to Port Saint Lucie and immediate areas
-NO factually inaccurate or misleading information or unfounded rumors.
-Images with legible license plates or personal identifying info or photos are not allowed.
7. Recommendations
-When asking for a recommendation, please pose your question to members to share their positive experience. Do not ask businesses to post their info. That’s not a recommendation; it’s an ad.
-BUSINESS OWNERS MAY NOT ENDORSE THEMSELVES! But they can advertise. Only $25 to reach 200,000 people. Dawn@TreasureCoast.com
-Recommendations will be approved on a case-by-case basis. They should not take the place of a Google or Yelp search.
8. NO Business Promos, NO Buy/Sell, NO Politics
-Self-promotion, spam, and irrelevant links aren’t allowed.
-No personal ads, yard, or merchandise sales. All ads are by TreasureCoast.com. Please contact Dawn@TreasureCoast.com for advertising.
-Please, no religious posts except for events and sponsors of TreasureCoast.
-Absolutely NO PET SALES or rehoming of pets as per Meta
-This is not a buy/sell/free group. There are local groups for that.
-No political posts or comments. Members posting a derogatory comment or meme will be removed from the group.

9. Duplicate Posting
-Use the ‘magnifier’ search tool before you post. A single keyword search works best. Example: “Fence” will find fencing posts. “Where can I get my fence repaired” will not get you results.
-Before posting or commenting, PLEASE read the page. Scroll through the posts and comments to avoid duplicates.
10. PLEASE, no GoFundMe requests
Or solicitations for money. Every once in a blue moon @TreasureCoast will post a fully vetted campaign. Third-party onsite fundraising events may be approved.
