General info from Florida Department of Health on COVID-19 vaccine

VACCINES

  • The COVID-19 vaccine is currently only authorized for
  • Long term care facility residents and staff
  • Persons 65 years of age and older
  • Health Care personnel with direct patient contact, though hospitals may vaccinate persons who they deem vulnerable to COVID-19.
  • The vaccine is available to residents, non-residents, part-time residents, and  “snowbirds” who meet the authorization criteria.
  • You can receive the vaccine in any county; you are not limited to your home county.

I am over 65. Where/How/When can I sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine?

You must check with your local County Health Department (CHD).  Visit https://www.floridahealth.gov/all-county-locations.html to access CHD webpages and phone numbers.

CHDs are finalizing and posting their vaccination processes.  If your CHD does not have information posted, check back until they do.  If you cannot get through on the phone, all you can do is keep trying.

Please remember that there are millions of people trying to register at this time for a limited number of vaccines.  This is a historic mass vaccination effort.  It is going to take some time to vaccinate everyone who wants to be vaccinated. Your patience and understanding are essential and appreciated.

I am a health care provider (Dental Office, General Practitioner, etc.) not affiliated with a hospital. Where/How/When can I sign up to receive a COVID-19 vaccine?

TRAVEL

There are no Florida-specific travel restrictions for entering Florida.  You do not have to provide a negative test result and you do not have to quarantine upon arrival.  There are federal test requirements for arrivals from certain foreign countries.  Please check with the airline or your embassy for further information.

COMPLIANCE

If you believe a business or individual is not complying with local COVID-19 ordinances, you must contact your local civic authorities or law enforcement.

To report COVID-19 exposures or outbreaks at businesses you must contact your local County Health Department (CHD).  Visit https://www.floridahealth.gov/all-county-locations.html to access CHD webpages for their disease reporting email addresses and phone numbers.
