Ft Pierce Gas Station Clerk arrested for stealing lotto ticket.

A gas station clerk was arrested and charged Wednesday.  Fort Pierce Police say he stole a winning lottery ticket worth thousands of dollars.

Officers say an undercover agent with the Florida Lottery entered a Fort Pierce Gas and Go Wednesday morning located on US 1.

He handed the clerk ,Wladimir Villacis, two tickets – a non-winning ticket and a $2,000 winning ticket.

The clerk scanned both tickets and a tone rang on the machine indicating a winning ticket. When the agent asked if he’d won the clerk told him no.

The agent told the clerk to throw away the tickets since he didn’t win.

Agents returned a few minutes later, and found the winning ticket in a toolbox in the building office.

The clerk was taken to the St. Lucie County Jail on charges of grand theft.
