Foster a pet during “Home for the Holidays” program

PALM CITY, Fla. — Attention all animal lovers! The Humane Society of the Treasure Coast is hoping to clear its shelter this holiday season for its “Home for the Holidays” campaign.
“We know there are lots of people out there who would love to offer a warm and welcoming home to our adoptable pets through the holidays,” said HSTC President & CEO Frank Valente.

Interested parties may pick out any adoptable pet at the Palm City shelter, located at 4100 SW Leighton Farm Ave., between December 20-23, and foster the pet in their home through the start of the new year. All pets must either be adopted or returned to the shelter by January 3. The ultimate goal is to get all of the pets adopted.

Pets are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and fosters do not need to submit an online foster application to participate in this special program. Due to COVID-19, the shelter is open to visitors by appointment only. Call the shelter at 772-223-8822 with additional questions and/or to schedule an appointment.

The humane society prefers that participants provide food bowls, bedding and toys for their foster pet but the shelter will assist if needed.
