Fort Pierce Utilities Authority Public Advisory

Fort Pierce, FL- October 2, 2017 – Approximately 1.25 million
gallons of secondary effluent was released into the Indian River. This was due to a loss of power at the Fort Pierce Utilities Authority.

This happened  approximately 3:00 am
until 6:45 am on Monday, October 2nd.

This poses no threat to the human population or wildlife.

As a safeguard, FPUA is collecting water samples from seven different (7) sites in the vicinity of
the Water Reclamation Facility that will be sent to a lab for testing.
