Fort Pierce substitute teacher accused of raping 15 y.o girl
Ft. Pierce, Fla– A substitute teacher and former FAU football player is accused of having sex with a 15-year-old girl in Fort Pierce. 24-year old Freedom Deantre Whitfield is facing a charge of sexual statutory rape of a juvenile.
The girl’s mother told police Whitfield had sex with her daughter last Saturday. Police confronted Whitfield and the girl at his mother’s apartment. The girl said she had sex with Whitfield and that it was their first time.
According to police, Whitfield said he picked up the girl and decided to go to his mom’s house because he was feeling sick. He said he didn’t want to leave the girl in the car so he invited her inside. He said she stayed in his room while he used the bathroom, and that nothing happened. Police arrested Whitfield while the girl went to Lawnwood Hospital for DNA testing. A spokesperson for St. Lucie Schools said Whitfield has been fired.
