Fort Pierce Police Seek Witnesses to Shooting Incident

Two underage teens are in critical condition, according to police, after a shooting Tuesday night in Fort Pierce. Police said a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old girl were shot around 6pm in the 3100 block of Avenue J, across the street from the Boys and Girls Club of St. Lucie County and Chester A. Moore Elementary School. Witnesses said there were a seemingly endless amount of gunshots. 

Investigators said the teens were walking on the sidewalk with a group of other individuals when they were shot. Both victims were taken to the hospital and are now in critical condition. Fort Pierce police are still searching for the suspects involved in the shooting. Family members said the 16-year-old girl, Tar’nija Carter, is fighting for her life. Carter is the sister of Ari’yonnia Stanberry, the lone survivor of a fiery crash that killed five people last November in Fort Pierce. Fort Pierce Police Continue Investigation into Shooting Incident

FORT PIERCE – Fort Pierce Police are still searching for any information that will help identify a motive and the suspects involved in the shooting of two teenagers.

At approximately 6:08 p.m. Tuesday, Fort Pierce Police responded to shooting activity in the 3100 block of Avenue J. The two teenagers, who were wounded, were walking on the sidewalk with a group of other unknown individuals when the incident occurred.

Two Fort Pierce Detectives, who were in the area, rushed to the female victim and began rendering aid until St. Lucie County Fire Rescue arrived to transport her and the male victim to area hospitals. Both victims are currently in critical condition.
