On 4/21/2022 a 73 year old man who was a resident of Fort Pierce was driving southbound on Kings Highway approaching  Angle Rd.

He swerved to the right and traveled through a parking lot on the northwest corner of the intersection. His car then became airborne and came to final rest in a canal adjacent to the intersection. He was pronounced at the scene.

The St Lucie Fire District Responded

“At 8:26 AM a caller reported a car sinking in the water in a canal along Kings Hwy with a single occupant inside. Upon arrival several FFs entered the water to try and save the driver, but were unsuccessful and assisted the SLCSO dive team with recovery. Tricounty towing removed the vehicle.”
