A Florida man is walking across the country to raise awareness for homeless veterans.
Craig White began his journey in Key West more than a month ago and plans to walk all the way to Seattle.
White, a former Department of Defense Contractor, got inspired after volunteering at a homeless shelter in Jacksonville.
White walks around 20 miles a day, carrying only food, water a change of clothes and a hammock to sleep in. For him, it’s the culmination of a year’s worth of research.
According to the Faith-Love-Hope charity, about 300 to 500 veterans go through their programs in Palm Beach County every year.
If you’d like to follow White’s process, he has a blog with more information: usainstrides.wordpress.com.
