Floating syringe alerts SLC detectives to check septic tank
Sheriff’s detectives conducted a search warrant last night on a house on Appamattox Terrace in Port St. Lucie.
A floating syringe alerted detectives to examine the septic tank where they found several other needles, capsules and a baggy.
In the house, detectives located used syringes ,two syringes loaded with heroin, one capsule with a mixture of both heroin and Fentanyl. They also located a counterfeit $100 bill and a gram of Ecstasy.
Richard McGinnis and Crystal Wilson were both arrested. They were charged with destroying or tampering with evidence, possession of heroin over 10 grams, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wilson was also arrested for an outstanding warrant for violation of probation.
Sheriff Ken Mascara said, “In the last week there have been three overdoses in the neighborhood surrounding this house, it is our hopes that the arrest made last night will prevent others from obtaining these highly dangerous and life-threatening drugs.”
(I rarely comment but I need to right now. SLC detectives that is going above and beyond the call of duty! No pun intended. I can’t even imagine. )
