First confirmed case of COVID-19 in Martin County and Indian River

Martin County, Fl (TreasureCoast.com)- The first person in Martin County and the Treasure Coast tested positive for COVID-19.

She was tested at the drive-through Cleveland Clinic testing site in Stuart.

The identity and age of the woman was not disclosed. Officials also declined to say what symptoms she was displaying, or when she was tested.

 Dr. Fernando Petry, chief medical officer for Cleveland Clinic Martin Health said the woman, who had traveled, followed all the advised protocols and is self-quarantining at home.

Dr Petry said that they have screened 2050 via telephone and 340 people have been tested. Screening will be set up at Tradition Hospital.

State health investigators are currently alerting anyone the woman had contact with for possible exposure.

Renay Rouse, spokeswoman for the Martin County Department of Health said if you or someone you know thinks you might have the virus, first contact your doctor and then call the nurse triage line at 772-419-3360 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There was one positive case in Indian River reported on the Dashboard 

There are still 0 cases for St Lucie and Okeechobee Counties
